BAGOONG MAKER AND PANDAN WEAVER WIN TOP PRIZE, SPECIAL CITATION IN THE 12th CITI MICROENTREPRENEURSHIP AWARDS

TWO CLIENTS of Tulay sa Pag-unlad, Inc. (TSPI) win top honors from the 12th Citi Microentrepreneurship Awards sponsored by the Citi Foundation, Citibank, the Microfinance Council of the Philippines, and Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas.

Teresita Valdez, owner of Viaña Food Condiments, a bagoong manufacturing company in San Jose Del Monte, Bulacan is named this year’s National Winner. Purificacion Tagulinao, meanwhile, bags the Special Award for Innovation.  Tagulinao is a manufacturer of products made out of pandan leaves based in Luisiana, Laguna.

Now on its 12th year, the Citi Microentreprenurship Awards gives recognition to successful microentrepreneurs across the country while also giving credit to special areas involving Community Service, Agri-business, and Innovation.

Valdez and Tagulinao, clients of TSPI San Jose Del Monte and Sta. Cruz, respectively, will be awarded on December 3 in formal rites at the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas head office.
